SMETS2 5 Terminal Meter
This product has been in mass roll-out since March 2019. This product is being deployed in both credit and pre-payment modes, a popular feature is the ability to pre-load tariffs and switching schedules allowing the meter to remain fully functional even where it can’t be commissioned due to no WAN signal or a Smart Systems issue. This meter also supports the auto install and commission capability.

SMETS2 5 Terminal Meter
This was released in July 2022 and is already in mass roll-out. This product is shorter than the standard size meter, which will support installs where space is an issue, note the streamlined 5th terminal which again saves space. This product is being deployed in both credit and pre-payment mode, a popular feature is the ability to pre-load tariffs and switching schedules, allowing the meter to remain fully functional even where the meter can’t be commissioned due no WAN signal or a Smart Systems issue. This meter also supports the auto install and commission capability.

SMETS2 4 Terminal Meter
This product has been in mass roll-out since 2019 and was the very first SMART meter to achieve full SMDA assurance. This product is being deployed in both credit and pre-payment modes. A popular feature is the auto install and commission, which means the meter will attempt to join the Home Area Network constantly for the first 4 hours and then once every 30 minutes indefinitely, enabling the engineer to leave the meter in a non-commissioned state due to no WAN signal or a Smart Systems issue. This enables the supplier to commission the meter remotely.

SMETS2 Polyphase (3 Phase) Meter
Released in July 2021, the first Polyphase meter to achieve full SMDA assurance. This product is suitable for industrial and commercial premises or very high energy-consuming homes such as those with an Electric Vehicle charger. This meter also supports the auto install and commission capability.

HOT SHOE
HS 100
Mounts underneath any standard Electric meter and provides power for any SMETS2 Communication Hub. This allows a SMETS 2 Gas Meter to be commissioned to the DCC network in the event of a Gas First install.
FLYING LEAD
FL 100
Allows the relocation of SMETS2 communications hub in the event of space or signal issue.
IC 100
ICHIS COVER
Covers and protects the ICHIS connector and is suitable for any SMETS2 Electric Meter.
HS SEAL
Spare tamper evident seals for use with the HS100 if it has to be removed and refitted.
WHO WE ARE
Kaifa Technology UK limited was founded in 2012 is part of Shenzhen Kaifa Technology group, we supply the UK utility industry with SMETS2 SMART Electric meters and Install accessories.
Kaifa designs and manufactures all of their products using one of the group’s nine manufacturing locations, which are continuously innovating. Kaifa has recently relocated SMART Electric meter production to a new site in Chengdu, which includes fully automated manufacturing lines for SMETS2 products.
Internationally, Kaifa has supplied over 76 million SMART meters across 35 countries, 42 million of these to customers in Europe. The UK team based in Milton Keynes is currently working with 32 customers in the UK energy industry.
